Muslims say that they are a "peaceful" religion. The evidence seems to indicate otherwise. Someone has correctly said, "98% of Muslims are NOT terrorists, but...98% of terrorists are Muslims." But their violent history is only one of the many contradictions of Islam.
Many erroneously say that the three major monotheistic religions (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) serve the same God. There is ample evidence that the God of the Jews is also the God of the Christians (Jesus is Jewish!). But the claim that the Muslims serve that same God is nothing more than a smoke and mirrors tactic used by Muslims to proselytize and misguide.
What does the Kuran (Quran) say of Jesus?
These few verses (many more available) clearly show that Islam openly denies the Sonship and Diety of Jesus Christ:
(Sura 4:171) “Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him.”
(Sura 5:72,73) “They do blaspheme who say: ‘God is Christ the son of Mary.’ But said Christ, ‘O children of Israel, Worship God, my Lord and your Lord.’ Whoever joins other gods with God, God will forbid him the garden, and the fire will be his abode… for there is no god except One God.”
(Sura 5:116) “And behold God will say, ‘O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, “Worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of God”?’ He will say, ‘Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say).’
(Sura 23:91) “No son did God beget, nor is there any god along with Him.
(Sura 72:3) “And exalted is the majesty of our Lord; He has taken neither a wifenor a son.”
(Sura 112:3) “He (God) begetteth not, nor is he begotten.”
So Islam cleary denies the very foundational tenets of Christianity and the New Testament.
What does the Bible say of Jesus?
In Matthew 16:13, Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
So this verse and many, many others establish that the Scriptures clearly teach that Jesus was truly the Son of God. But Muslims not only deny His Sonship, they also deny His Diety.
The first verse of the Gospel of John refutes their claims by boldly stating:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The Apostle Paul adds to that in Colossians by declaring “For by him all things were created … all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together...
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”
Paul goes on to say in Romans 10:9, "If you declare with your mouth, “JesusisLord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
So it comes down to that same question that Jesus posed to His disciples: Who do YOU say that Jesus is? The Koran denies His Sonship and Diety, whereas the Scriptures confirm it. My heartfelt prayer is that you will see Him for who He is, and declare from the depths of your heart that Jesus IS Lord!
